Cabinet decision to implement PSPP as proposed by FNCCI is a welcome step to boost morale and investment of private sector: FNCCI President Dhakal

Kathmandu. The meeting of the Council of Ministers on March 28, 2082 at the request of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) decided to immediately implement the Private Sector Protection and Promotion Strategy (PSPP).

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) had organized the Economic Debate: 2.0 programme on November 8, 2002 and drew the attention of the government for the first time to the need of the strategy in the changed context.

Following this, the FNCCI presented the concept paper of the Government of Nepal (PSPP) after holding further discussions on the Cooperation Programme for Peace, Stability and Prosperity.

“The government is committed to ensure the security and promotion of private sector businesses, individuals and investments. We hope that it will boost the morale of the private sector and help promote investment. FNCCI President Dhakal said.

The PSPP has been included in the 60th point of the government’s 100-point programme on governance reforms. The government has decided to immediately implement the Private Sector Protection and Promotion Strategy (PSPP) with the objective of economic stability, consolidating investment environment and restoring confidence of private sector. The government has also decided to immediately implement strategies related to physical security and asset protection, economic revival, regulatory simplification, investment promotion and youth entrepreneurship through the FNCCI recommendation.

The FNJ had submitted the proposal for integrated relief and business simplification for the private sector affected by the vandalism and arson at private businesses, houses and establishments following the demonstrations on September 7 and 24. The decision of the Council of Ministers has also decided to provide necessary concessions.

 

The government has also decided to accept and implement the recommendations presented by the High Level Economic Reform Suggestions Commission formed for the second phase of economic reform at the request of the FNCCI for policy-level reforms. Accordingly, the newly appointed Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has decided. The third executive committee meeting of the FNJ held in Dhorpatan had decided to urge the government to form a high-level economic reform advisory commission to prepare a roadmap for the second phase of economic reforms.

“The federation had called for the amendment, amendment and repeal of these and other laws through the National Economic Transformation 2030. The PSPP will act as a mechanism for the implementation of the Commission’s recommendations. We will collaborate with the government in the formulation and implementation of the strategy. Dhakal said.

Similarly, the decision to form an integrated structure of the Investment Board, Department of Industry and other similar bodies to facilitate foreign investment at the request of the FNCCI will help in providing easy and easy service to the service seekers.

Similarly, most of the services of the general public will be provided through digital medium and the government has committed to maintain good governance. The government has stated that it will prepare a one-door business platform within 45 days to provide all business services. There is a possibility that this service can be provided through the citizen app and the federation will soon submit its study report to the government. Encouraging energy production and export is also positive. The federation has urged the government to make energy available at subsidized rate by adopting energy as a raw material and providing it to the productive industries at a subsidized rate.
