Hetauda. Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Gauri Kumari Yadav, has said that the Hetauda Textile Industry will be resumed without seeking additional budget from the Ministry of Finance.
On the occasion, Minister Yadav said that the amount collected from the industrial sector for years would be spent for upgrading and operating the Hetauda Textile Industry.
Making an on-site inspection of a textile factory in Hetauda today, Minister Yadav said that the factories should not be limited to testing but should be converted to regular production.
At present, 10 looms are in operation in the factory and garments are being produced and preparations are underway to bring additional 10 machines into operation.
On the occasion, the representatives of Nepal Army informed Minister Yadav that they were testing and inspecting the condition of all the machines and equipment in the industry and works were on to bring more of them into operation as much as possible.
Stating that the government has accorded top priority to the revival of the Hetauda garment industry, Minister Yadav said continuous support from the Nepal Army was needed to run the industry in a sustainable manner.
“Now, Hetauda garment industry should be operated continuously,” she said. I request the Nepal Army to take further initiative and provide necessary support for this. ”
On the occasion, Minister Yadav thanked the Nepal Army for playing an important role in bringing the test run of the industry into operation within the given timeframe.
Minister Gauri said that Hetauda Textile Industry is seen as the biggest textile industry of Nepal and if all the machines are brought into operation, Nepal can produce garments in sufficient quantity.
Minister Yadav’s announcement to mobilize the government’s own resources in course of resuming the state-run industries that have been closed for years has further clarified the government’s plan to run the textile industry in a self-reliant manner.
