More than 800 people evacuated to Narayaniwari

Nawalparasi. Locals have been brought to Narayaniwari after the flood in the Narayani river subsided due to incessant rains.

Floods have entered Susta Rural Municipality-5 of West Nawalparasi since Friday. According to Chief District Officer of District Administration Office, Nawalparasi, Deepak Raj Nepal, the locals were kept in shelters after floods entered Tharu and other localities of Susta.

He said that more than TAG_OPEN_div_14 800 people have been brought to BP Secondary School in Balinagar of Narayaniwari Susta after the flood level in Narayani increased. He said, “There are more than 1,450 citizens in 219 households in Susta. Some of them have already gone to their relatives’ houses while the rest have been brought back with the help of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force. ”

} “There was a delay in lifting the water level in the Narayani River to reach the school,” said CDO Nepal. He said that the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Nawalparasi and Nawalparasi Red Cross have reached the area with relief materials.

According to Sovit Haluwai, liaison and land acquisition officer at the Gandak Project Office, Bhaisalotan, Balmakinagar, 479,TAG_OPEN_div_10 100 cusecs of water has been measured at present.
