KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) vice-president Pushpa Bhusal has said the party’s 15th general convention was the forum for serious discussion and dialogue on the present and future of the party.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the general convention at Khula Manch in Kathmandu on Sunday, leader Bhusal said the NC, which has struggled for democracy for a long time, should review its present situation and chart a future course.

“The general convention is going to be a forum to hold dialogue and concern about the present and future of the Nepali Congress, which has made history by fighting for democracy since 2004 BS,” she said.

Bhusal said that the general convention is not only for the management of posts and selection of leadership. He said that not only the leaders and cadres of the Congress, but all those who believe in democracy and the Congress should take the general convention as an opportunity to introspect about the condition of the party.

“This general convention is not being held only for the management of posts. This convention should become a place for introspection not only by the leaders and cadres of the Congress, but also by all those who believe in democracy and the Congress,” Bhusal said.
