TAG_OPEN_div_37 KATHMANDU: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Deepak Sah has expressed his commitment to create investment-friendly environment by removing legal and procedural hurdles in the industrial sector.

In today’TAG_OPEN_div_35 s meeting of the Industry, Commerce and Labour and Consumers Welfare Committee, he said that the government was aware of the need of improvement in laws, processes and working style as per the time.

Stating that the role of the government is to facilitate, regulate and formulate policies while the private sector is the major partner in production, investment, employment and innovation, Minister Sah said that the government and the private sector should work together to find solutions. He pledged to adopt a policy of zero tolerance on corruption and unnecessary interference if there is a lack of coordination.TAG_OPEN_div_33

Minister Sah pledged to make laws and processes simple, transparent, technology-friendly and investment-friendly to address digital economy, e-commerce, modern supply chain, international competition and the changing role of private sector.TAG_OPEN_div_31

} Issues were raised in the meeting including industrial village, double taxation, one-door system for registration and renewal of industries and industries, control of smuggling and import through open border, making the supply of electricity sustainable and reliable for the operation of dry ports and industries. The industrialists demanded that the operation of substations for electricity supply should be made effective.
