Kathmandu. On the first day of Navratri, Nepalis are worshiping Shailputri by keeping Ghatasthapana and Jamara in their homes.

After the ritualistic Ghatasthapana in the puja room or Dashain Ghar of the house, Shailputri is invoked and worshipped. Shailputri is the first of the nine forms of Navadurga. It is mentioned in the scriptures like Devi Kavach, Markandeya Purana that Parvati, the daughter of Giriraj Himalaya, is Shailputri.
