Whether it is air or land, passengers are not able to reach their destination with tickets, although it is equally difficult to get tickets. Even though they have money, those passengers have not been able to travel as easily as they wanted.

The journey is very difficult and expensive, but they have no choice but to endure it with the hope of meeting family, relatives and friends during Dashain. The journey of those who reach the remote villages of the mountainous districts of Karnali Province becomes more complicated and tedious, but the desperate desire to reach home and celebrate Dashain has made them adapt to the adverse situation of the painful journey.

The people who return home for Dashain from the Gulf countries and Kalapahad (India) for work in America and Europe are traveling every day, forgetting the expensive journey and the sorrows on the way, in the hope of reuniting with the family. For the family members who have not been able to meet for years, the relatives and friends who have many dreams to meet, Dashain and Tihar may actually become a confluence of expressing social unity, mutual harmony and loving feelings, those who leave the city and go to the village seem to be in a happy mood.

Namaraj Shahi of Tila Rural Municipality-4, Jumla, who returned home from Bangalore, India, said that he felt that he had reached the land of peace when he returned to the village from the city’s Kohal. Stating that he has reached the village to celebrate Dashain, he said, “There are separate houses in the village, but the thoughts, hearts and human feelings are very close. Ironically, even though the houses are connected in the city, there is only a drought of human feelings and mutual harmony. There seems to be a crack in human relations. ”

He said that on this occasion of Dashain, more fun has started in the village than in the city. According to Shahi, now the village is bringing crops like beans, maize, millet, sugar, kaguno, marse, gahat, mas and other crops, eating the newly brought crops as a nwagi, exchanging the products they have with the neighbors and enjoying themselves by playing swing and sharing joys and sorrows.

In terms of travel, passengers going to Dailekh, Kalikot, Bajura, Humla, Jumla, Mugu and Surkhet via Bheri corridor via Karnali Highway have to reach home with great pain. However, there is a rush of people leaving home for work and employment and going home from different parts of the country and abroad to celebrate Bada Dashain.

Manrup Pariyar, a resident of Adanchuli Rural Municipality, who traveled from Surkhet-Dailekh-Kalikot to Humla via Bajura via Karnali corridor, said that he reached home after two days. Pariyar said, “During the two-day journey, I had to board a car and also walk on foot. I reached home only this morning. I felt a different feeling of happiness when I left the city and reached home. The touch of the motherland has soothed the fatigue of the arduous journey. ”

After the citizens returned to the motherland to celebrate Dashain and Diwali, the movement of people in the city has decreased. After half of the city’s population returned to the village, there is less fun. The airport and bus park are crowded only with people going to the village. Bindukamari Singh, a passenger going to Jumla from Sarlahi of Ishwarpur Municipality-3, said that the desire to visit her motherland is more than the pain of the journey. “It is not our desire to leave our homes and enter the cities of the country and abroad in terms of employment and opportunities, but it is a compulsion,” he said, adding that the villages are richer than the cities in terms of social crime, screaming, inhumanity and exchange of cooperation. Looking at the dim atmosphere of the city, one can feel that there is peace in the slums. Passenger Singh said that the village is becoming more vibrant and colorful than the city at this time.
