Hetauda Transport Office collects Rs 570 million revenue in last fiscal year

Bagmati. Hetauda: The Transport Management Office, Hetauda, has collected Rs 574.27 million in revenue in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. During this period, the revenue was collected from registration of new vehicles, renewal and distribution of driving licenses.

Office Chief Prabin Shrestha said that 6,095 new vehicles, both small and big, were seized during the period. As compared to the previous fiscal year 2080/81, revenue of Rs 13.55 million and registration of 1,696 new vehicles have been registered.

The office had collected Rs 567.17 million in the fiscal year 2080/81 BS under the heads of new vehicles, renewal and distribution of driving licenses. Chief Shrestha said that the office has seized 4,399 vehicles in the current fiscal year.

In the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, rs 96.28 million was collected from the distribution of driving licenses, Rs 347.99 million from vehicle tax, Rs 89.594 million from transport sector, Rs 40.394 million from federalism and Rs 8,000 from arrears.

Similarly, 3,225 motorcycles, 889 tempo-rickshaws, 761 jeepcars, 686 cranes/dozers/excavators/trucks, 286 microbuses, 141 buses, 20 minibuses and 12 tractors were registered in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. A total of 7,120 driving licenses have been issued during this period. A total of 6,371 renewals, 92 copies, 97 renewals and copies were issued during the period.

Meanwhile, the Labour and Employment Office, Hetauda has rescued 48 child labourers in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS and handed them over to their parents. They were rescued and handed over to their parents during the monitoring carried out at 317 industrial establishments in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS.

In this connection, action has also been taken against 30 industrial establishments and employers for employing children as child labourers, office chief Rudra Narayan Sah said. A fine of Rs 442,000 and a compensation of Rs 516,000 have been paid after taking action against these industries and employers, said Office Chief Sah.

During the inspection of 251 industrial establishments in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, it was found that most of the big industries were complying with labour laws including minimum wages, but the situation of appointment letter, minimum wage, social security and occupational security in small industries establishments was found to be weak. In the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, 91 individual and collective complaints related to labour were registered, out of which 59 complaints were disposed of, he said.

According to Office Chief Sah, the accounts of eight establishments have been frozen and some industries have been instructed to improve and awareness programs have also been organized involving workers and managers. The office, which monitored 95 industrial establishments in the fiscal year 2080/81 BS, had taken action against 35 establishments and employers for employing children as child labourers.
