Commercial bank’s profit increased by 43.27 percent: Nabil in first place, how much of which bank?

Kathmandu. In the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year, 20 commercial banks have earned a profit of Rs 71.45 billion.

This profit is 43.27 percent higher than the same period of the previous fiscal year. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, the bank had posted a profit of Rs 49.87 billion.

According to the pre-audit report published by the banks, the profit of four banks has decreased till mid-July of the last fiscal year while the profit of the remaining 16 banks has increased. Standard Chartered Bank, Nepal SBI Bank, Citizens Bank and NIC Asia Bank are among the banks that have reduced their profits. The profits of all the remaining banks have increased. Nabil Bank has been ranked first in the list of highest profiteers while NIC Asia Bank is at the last position.

Nabil Bank has earned a profit of Rs 7.12 billion till mid-June of the last fiscal year. This profit is 15.01 percent higher than the same period of the previous fiscal year. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, the bank had earned a profit of Rs 6.19 billion.

Similarly, NIC Asia Bank earned the lowest profit of Rs 101.57 million. This profit is 85.52 percent lower than the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Nabil Bank is followed by Nepal Investment Mega and Globe IME Bank.

Nepal Investment Mega Bank’s net profit increased by 64.44 percent to Rs 6.75 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year. Similarly, global profit increased by 1.10 percent to Rs 6.20 billion.

Prabhu Bank’s net profit increased by 965.41 percent to Rs 5.44 billion as of Mid-June.

Similarly, Everest Bank’s profit increased by 32.81 percent to Rs 4.91 billion, Agriculture Development Bank’s profit increased by 43.38 percent to Rs 4.15 billion, Laxmi Sunrise Bank’s profit increased by 40.97 percent to Rs 4.11 billion and Prime Bank’s profit increased by 14.72 percent to Rs 4.24 billion.

Similarly, Rastriya Banijya Bank increased by 49.53 percent to Rs 3.81 billion, Nepal Bank by 13,184 percent to Rs 3.77 billion, Siddhartha Bank by 10.24 percent to Rs 3.39 billion and NMB Bank by 46.22 percent to Rs 3.28 billion.

Similarly, Sanima Bank’s profit increased by 7.25 percent to Rs 2.57 billion, Kumari Bank’s profit increased by 45,829.01 percent to Rs 2.11 billion, Machhapuchchhre Bank’s profit increased by 92.45 percent to Rs 2.11 billion, Himalayan Bank’s profit increased by 22.15 percent to Rs 1.51 billion.

Standard Chartered Bank’s profit fell 7.51 percent to Rs 3.29 billion, Nepal SBI Bank’s profit decreased by 9.86 percent to Rs 1.80 billion and Citizens Bank’s profit fell by 2.08 percent to Rs 1.29 billion.
