New provisions related to concessional loans: Reports of old and new procedures should be made public separately

Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has made a new provision regarding concessional loans. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has directed the banks to make public separate reports of the Integrated Working Procedure 2075 and 2082 on interest subvention for concessional loans.
According to the directive issued by the Rastra Bank, separate detail TAG_OPEN_div_23 s of the existing borrowers and borrowers who have received concessional loans as per the ‘Working Procedure on Interest Subvention for Concessional Loans, 2082’ will have to be made public quarterly through their website. ।
The government TAG_OPEN_div_21 provides interest subvention on concessional loans with the objective of modernizing and promoting traditional skills and professions, developing entrepreneurship and building private houses for victims of natural disasters.
TAG_OPEN_div_19 The government has approved a new working procedure to provide interest subvention of up to 3 percent on loans under eight different heads from 5 to 6 percent currently provided on loans in 10 sectors. Similarly, the government has abolished the procedure of providing subsidy of 6 percent on women entrepreneurship loans and 2 percent on commercial agriculture and livestock loans above Rs 50 million. ।
According to the Ministry TAG_OPEN_div_15 of Finance, after the revised procedure, concessional loans provided by banks and financial institutions have been facilitated and the limit of some loans has also been increased drastically. Now banks and financial institutions will be able to provide loans up to Rs 50 million under agriculture and livestock loans. Earlier, commercial agriculture was given only, but now it is being given to all types. Similarly, women entrepreneurs’ loans have been increased to Rs 2.5 million by amending the procedure. If the youths returning from foreign employment want to become self-employed, the government will now provide a loan of up to Rs 2 million.
TAG_OPEN_div_13 The educated youth project loan has been increased to Rs 20 lakh while the Dalit community Bhagat Sarbajit Enterprise Development Loan has also been increased to Rs 20 lakh. Similarly, according to the revised procedure, the limit of startup enterprise loan has been increased to Rs 2.5 million. The government has set a maximum limit of Rs 2.5 million for boiler replacement loans in industries. The private housing loan for natural disaster victims has been fixed at Rs 500,000. Earlier, such a provision had not been made.
