Kathmandu. Non-life insurance companies have made a business of more than Rs 4.25 billion in the first month of the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS. The company’s business has increased by only Rs 85 million compared to mid-July of the last fiscal year. The company’s insurance premium stood at Rs 4.31 billion in the last fiscal year.
According to the Nepal Insurance Authority( NEA), 14 non-life insurance companies have issued 215,285 insurance policies in the current fiscal year. During this period, the business of 10 insurance companies has increased. The business of the remaining four insurance companies has decreased.
In the last fiscal year, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance has been successful in bringing the highest number of businesses. Oriental Insurance is ahead in terms of business growth compared to the last fiscal year. Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance has earned Rs 455.4 million in insurance premium in the current fiscal year. The company had earned Rs 631.5 million in insurance premium in july last year.
Similarly, Siddhartha Premier Insurance is the second insurance company to bring the highest number of business in the current fiscal year as compared to the previous fiscal year. The company has earned a total insurance premium of Rs 417.9 million in the current fiscal year. The company had earned Rs 453.2 million in insurance premium in july last year.
On the other hand, Shikhar Insurance has earned a total insurance premium of Rs 415.5 million in the first month of the current fiscal year. In the same period last year, the company had earned a total insurance premium of Rs 368.8 million. Similarly, Oriental Insurance earned Rs 413.7 million, Himalayan Everest Insurance Rs 365.2 million, NLG Insurance Rs 344.1 million, IGI Prudential Insurance Rs 338.1 million, Neco Insurance Rs 320.1 million and United Ajod Insurance Rs 297.6 million.
In the current fiscal year, National Insurance earned Rs 230.6 million, Sanima GIC Insurance Rs 223.6 million, Nepal Insurance Rs 207.1 million, National Insurance Company Rs 162.7 million and Prabhu Insurance Rs 127.1 million.
