Kathmandu. Employees of Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) have said that the morale of 4-5 chairpersons has been changed time and again in a year.

Nepal Insurance Authority Employees Union and Nepal Insurance Authority Employees Association have drawn the attention of the Ministry of Finance.

“At a time when we have to play an important role in reviving the financial loss caused to the state and the public by highlighting the importance of the insurance sector even in view of the dire situation taking place in the country, the entire staff of the organization should create an environment to ease the current situation by giving an outlet as much as possible to the morale of the entire insurance sector and employees in the context of the change of chairman 4/5 times in a year. And the trade unions would like to draw your attention,” the letter reads.

It is well known that the main function and objective of this organization is to regulate the entire insurance market, protect the rights and interests of the insured and establish the insurance sector as a strong pillar of the financial system.

Both the unions have said that the attention of the employees of the Authority has been drawn towards the instability seen in the process of appointment of the chairman for the past one year in the context of the clear provision regarding the qualification, appointment and tenure of the chairman in the Insurance Act, 2079.

He said that the current situation has created frustration among the employees and all the stakeholders of the insurance sector.
