Kathmandu. Deepak Malhotra, senior vice-president of Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), said that the government should provide refinancing to industrialists who are facing problems due to the GenG agitation.

At a programme on ‘The Way Forward for Revitalization of Economy’ organized by the Economic Journalists’ Association of Nepal (NEA) here today, he insisted on the need of refinancing to uplift industrialists from the present situation.

“The current problem is different from the earthquake and COVID-19,” he said, urging them to give priority to it. The government needs to provide loan concessions to industrialists for revival. ’

He said that the NRB needs to provide loans at the base rate to solve the current problem. “As far as I can see, there are two types of problems. The money in one country is going abroad,” he says, “In the other, skilled youths are migrating abroad to do our work.” The government needs to control it immediately. ’

Stating that 11 lakh youths have gone abroad for foreign employment and student visa, he said that Nepal’s human resources are decreasing. He argued that the government needs to take steps to stop this.

“The agitators who vandalized Upendra Mahato’s house vandalized where did they get so much property from,” he said, adding, “Such negative comments on the property earned by the businessmen by paying tax to the government show that entrepreneurs are not safe in Nepal.” Malhotra said that the government should work by giving first priority to the industrialized country, saying it is the backbone of the country’s economy.
