Kathmandu. Nawalparasi: Heavy goods vehicles have been affected due to flooding in Binayi Rivulet of East Nawalparasi along the East-West Highway. Hiralal Shrestha, president of the Federation of Nepal Truck Entrepreneurs, said that the transportation of construction materials has been severely affected due to this.

“Goods vehicles have not been able to operate from Binayi river after the flood on Monday washed away its diversion,” shrestha said, adding, “Passenger buses and small vehicles, except goods carriers, have been coming from Dumkibas bazaar via the gate of Hongshi Cement.” ’

Shrestha said that the movement of essential commodities has not been affected much as small and food vehicles are passing. He said that only big trucks carrying goods imported from customs are facing problems in coming.

Shrestha said that due to the closure of the road, the road to the arrival of 600 goods vehicles on a daily basis has been blocked. “Around 600 trucks ply through the route every day,” shrestha says, adding, “A vehicle charges Rs 60,000 a day. ’

Industrialists and truck entrepreneurs are facing huge problems due to the closure of the road, he said. According to Shrestha, the vehicles transporting daily goods have not brought goods to the market, which has also affected the market.

According to Narayanghat Butwal road section project chief Ishwar Bahadur Rijal, it will take another five days for the bridge to become fully operational. “The diversion of Binayi rivulet of East Nawalparasi along the East-West Highway is going to be completed. Rijal said, “We will allow large freight vehicles to operate from the diversion from the end of next week.” He said that even today, big trucks are sent after seeing the condition of the road when there is no rain.
