Kailali. Houses in Dhangadhi have been inundated due to incessant rains since Sunday. Police have rescued eight people who were trapped in the inundation today.
Administrative Officer and Information Officer at the District Administration Office, Kailali, Shivaraj Joshi, informed that eight people including four from Sri Lanka and four from Beli village of Dhangadhi have been rescued.
According to him, four members of sitaram Rana’s family were rescued and shifted to a relative’s house nearby after his one-storey mud house was submerged. Similarly, four members of a family from Dhangadhi-13, Sri Lanka have been rescued and kept at a nearby primary school.
Information Officer Joshi said that around 2,000 houses in Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city area have been flooded due to heavy rainfall since last night. According to him, wards 3, 4, 13, 1, 7 and 11 of Dhangadhi have been affected due to the rain.
