Bhojpur. With the development of forest area, more than 8,500 saplings have been distributed in the district to connect the farmers to entrepreneurship. The Division Forest Office has distributed saplings including dante walnut, timur and rudraksha with the aim of connecting the farmers here with income generation.
Forest Officer at the Division Forest Office, Kapil Dev Adhikari, said that 3,200 pieces of walnuts, 1,600 timurs÷, 1,100 satuwas, 1,000 rudraksha and bay leaves and 550 loaded saplings have been distributed to the farmers.
The saplings have been distributed to farmers, agriculture and herbal firms, forest groups and various organizations of the district on the basis of demand. Adhikari said that along with the development of green area, saplings are being distributed to the farmers through various programs with the aim of supporting the farmers financially. He informed that the target is to distribute 80,000 saplings from nurseries operating in Dingla, Yaku, Balangkha and districts in the month of June and July.
“We have laid emphasis on the development of the forest area as well as the programmes that will generate income to the farmers,” he said, adding, “We have distributed more than 8,500 saplings so far.” We have set a target of distributing 80,000 saplings. ’
On the occasion of National Tree Plantation Day 2082 and World Environment Day, sapling plantation programs are being organized at pauwadung rural municipality and various places. The tree plantation was carried out at Bhakimle Community Forest in Bhojpur Municipality-5 with the participation of local community forest users’ groups, forest produce entrepreneurs’ association, stakeholders and representatives of organisations. According to the office, this work will be carried out continuously.
