Bhairahawa. Rupandehi: A by-election to fill the vacant posts of members of the House of Representatives in Rupandehi constituency-3 is scheduled to be held on November 15. Issuing a press release today, the Election Commission fixed the date for the by-election.
Rupandehi: A by-election has been necessitated in Rupandehi constituency-3 following the death of Deepak Bohara, a member of the House of Representatives. Bohara Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) had won the general elections held on December 27, 2017, defeating the then Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand.
“If the seat of any member is vacant with six months remaining in the term of the House of Representatives, then such seat will be filled through the same process through which it was filled up,” ec joint secretary and spokesperson Nita Pokharel Aryal said in a statement.
Now the necessary process will be conducted according to the date of by-election fixed as per the constitution and election law to fill the vacant posts. The Election Commission (EC) has said that it will soon make public the voters’ list, candidacy registration and code of conduct.
Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19, Omsatia Rural Municipality-2, Mayadevi Rural Municipality-7 and 8, Tilottama Municipality-13 and 14 and Siyari Rural Municipality-1, 2, 3, 6 and 7 are in Rupandehi constituency-3.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission (EC) has issued another notice suspending the registration of voters’ list from June 10 until further notice. As the date of the election has already been announced, there is a provision that the voter names will not be registered for the election process, so the regular voter list has been postponed until further arrangements.
