Kailali. Bhawana Pulami Magar, a woman entrepreneur from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-14, Phulbari Hgaun, has been running dunatpari industry with personal investment. She has been doing business with an investment of Rs 800,000 by registering ‘Sanidanda Phulbari Dunatpari Udyog’ for the last six years.

Magar said that initially he operated the industry with collective investment, but now he has started the business with personal investment. “We had set up the industry in partnership with 20 women of the village with an investment of Rs 150,000. Later, I learned to work, now I am doing business alone. ’

Entrepreneur Magar, who was ready to go abroad by making a passport due to her financial situation, had given up the temptation of foreign employment with the plan to become self-employed at the local level. Now she has become self-employed and has given employment to some local people.

According to Magar, the industry has a turnover of Rs 100,000 per month. According to him, the workers save Rs 25,000 per month by deducting wages and family expenses.

She said that the education of the children with all the expenses of the family of four is being run by the business here. She said, “Initially, the financial situation was weak and I made a passport thinking of going abroad due to difficulty in running my daily life. Her husband is still in Saudi Arabia for foreign employment. This business has changed the daily routine. ’

Magar said that apart from running the industries, women are also given training. She said she had trained local women through the capacity development programme from the ward. More than 60 women from Different places including Dhangadhi, Achham, Bardiya and Hasulia have been trained in world entrepreneur Magar.

Stating that the industry has been producing 3,000 dunas and 3,000 tapris daily, she said that tapri is being sold at Rs 4 and duna at Rs 1. She said that the dunatpari produced by her will reach Dhangadhi, Mahendranagar, Jhalari, Hasulia as well as Pokhara.

According to Magar, most of the business is done with businessmen of Pokhara. “Other businessmen pack the goods they produce and sell them at a higher price by wearing the logo of their own company,” he said, adding, “If they had the equipment to pack, they could have added more income and employment.” ’

Magar said she was selected as the best female entrepreneur from the Far-Western Province and was honoured by former President Bidya Devi Bhandari in March last year. According to him, there is a plan to purchase packing equipment and expand the business if the industry receives grants from the local and state governments.
