Kathmandu. Now it is certain that a dry port will be built at Chandnidodhara in the far west. It was discussed about 20 years ago that this plan would be made.
Ashish Gajurel, executive director of Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Committee, said that chandanidodhara port and integrated check post are being constructed with the technical and financial assistance of the Indian government. According to him, the work of cutting trees has already started after completing the EIA by providing land through the committee. According to him, the project will be built on 42 hectares of land. Now the tender has been floated and the contract has also been awarded.
He said that a letter has now been sent to the Ministry to write to the contractor company to start the construction and after receiving the letter from the Ministry, the construction company will be allowed to proceed with the construction process. He said that the locals were happy with this work. Gajurel said that this would help in exporting from the far west and take Nepal to the development model.
