Sukh Samruddhi Co-operative harasses savers, 10 people, including chairman, flee

Kathmandu. The chairman of The Sukh Samruddhi Savings and Loan Co-operative Society at Bouddha in Kathmandu has been absconding after duping the savings of the savers.

Cooperative president Rup Narayan Shrestha, vice-president Sajina Gautam, secretary Anup Adhikari and treasurer Kabita Kumari Karki are absconding.

Similarly, members of the board of directors komal Bahadur Dhital, Sulochana Kapali, Jiban Sapkota, accounts committee coordinator Sushila Dhamala, member-secretary Nabin Rai and accounts committee member Umesh Koswar are absconding.

They have closed the institution without returning the savings of the savers and are absconding. Police are searching for 10 people who are absconding after duping the cooperative.

Devi Prasad Dhakal and Januka Mahat and his son have been duped of Rs 1.059 million, including five vineyards and Rs 559,000 respectively. They have been sentenced to seven years in jail and a charge sheet has been filed in the court demanding Rs 70,000.
