Brussels. Apple filed an appeal on Monday against the 500 million euros fine imposed by the European Union (EU). Brussels has accused Us tech giant Apple of forcing “bad” changes for users.
In April, the European Commission fined Apple for preventing customers from steering outside its App Store.
“The European Commission’s decision and the unimaginable penalties are far beyond the scope of the law,” Apple said in a statement. Today we have filed our appeal. ’
“Our appeal demonstrates how the Commission is forcing us to comply with commercial terms is misleading for developers and bad for users,” the statement said. We have followed fire conditions to avoid daily fines. We will share the facts with the EU court when needed. ’
Apple last month announced changes to its App Store payment rules in Europe to avoid new daily fines.
The changed App Store payment rules also allow developers to offer various payment options directly to consumers within their app. The Commission is now evaluating these changes.
