Kathmandu. The Miteri bridge connecting Nepal and China has been washed away due to floods triggered by heavy rains on the Chinese side.

Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, Arjun Poudel, said that the movement towards China via Rasuwa has been stopped. According to him, the Miteri bridge connecting Nepal and China at Gosaikunda Rural Municipality rasuwagadhi in Rasuwa district was washed away by flood last night.

Most of the more than 150 vehicles in the customs yard (dry pot) at Timure have been damaged by the floods. The cargo container has also been washed away.

No further damage has been reported.
