Kathmandu. In the 11 months of the current fiscal year, remittances worth Rs 1,532 billion have entered Nepal.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank( NRB), remittance inflows increased by 15.5 percent to Rs 1,532.93 billion in the eleven months of fiscal year 2081/82 BS. Remittance inflows had increased by 17.2 percent in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

The remittance inflow stood at Rs 176.32 billion in May 2018. In the same month of the previous year, such inflows stood at Rs 128.91 billion.

During this period, remittance inflows in US dollars increased by 12.7 percent to Reach 11.25 billion. Such inflows had increased by 15.2 percent in the same period of the last fiscal year.

During this period, the net transfer has reached Rs 1,668.30 billion. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, such income was Rs 1,443.10 billion.

A total of 452,324 Nepalis have taken the final labour permit (institutional and individual-new) for foreign employment till Mid-May and 308,067 have taken re-labour permit.

In the same period last year, the number was 421,356 and 261,210 respectively.
