Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged the people living in the lower banks of the Trishuli River to remain alert.

As the water level at the Trishuli River Betrawati Water Measurement Center in Nuwakot district has crossed the alert level and is increasing, the people living in the lower bank of the Trishuli River have been asked to take necessary precautions.

Nuwakot and Rasuwa, the upper reaches of the Trishuli River, have received heavy rainfall. It is said that the risk of flooding on both sides of the Trishuli river bank may increase as the rain has also damaged roads and bridges.

The administration has urged the people living near the river banks not to go near the river unless needed, to keep children and livestock in a safe place, and to immediately stay in safe places for those who have gone to potential risk areas.
