Two Indians arrested for more than Rs 1.5 billion cryptocurrency transaction under the cover of grocery store

Kathmandu. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested two Indian nationals involved in illegal cryptocurrency transactions worth more than Rs 1.5 billion from Sanepa in Lalitpur.

Two Indian nationals involved in illegal cryptocurrency transactions worth more than Rs 1.5 billion were arrested on Monday, the CIB said. The arrestees have been identified as Rupesh Kumar Gupta and Bipin Kumar.

Gupta hails from Motihari in Bihar, India, while Kumar is a resident of East Champaran Bijbani, CIB spokesperson Yujraj Khadka said. According to Khadka, he was involved in hundi and cryptocurrency business under the cover of rajtirtha traders, a grocery shop run by Gupta.
