Drinking water crisis in Birgunj: Emphasis on long-term solution to problem

Birgunj. Birgunj: Residents of Birgunj Metropolitan City have stressed the need for a long-term solution to the long-standing drinking water crisis in the metropolis.

According to them, water should not be distributed through tankers and fire tenders for a few days instead of resolving the problem of drinking water in the long run. Birgunj Metropolitan City has started supplying water from tankers and Sakhuwa Prasauni rural municipality of Parsa through fire engines.

Birgunj Metropolitan City Mayor Rajesh Man Singh had also announced that he would work to solve the problem of drinking water in Birgunj even when he was a candidate in the local level elections in 2079 BS. Minister for Drinking Water pradeep Yadav, who is also a member of the House of Representatives from Parsa, had also announced a long-term solution to drinking water.
