Baglung. The dam and powerhouse of the Upper Kalungkhola Micro Hydropower Project at Paiyuthanthap of Jaimini Municipality-9 has been washed away.
Ganga Acharya, a local, said the flood this morning washed away the powerhouse along with the dam of the project. Acharya said that the steel bridge constructed at a cost of Rs 3.5 million last year was also washed away.
The transformer of the central power transmission line has also been damaged in the flood. Electricity supply to 130 houses in the local electricity panel has been cut off due to the damage to the transformer.
Two families of Khareyabot of Panyuthanthap have been displaced by the floods. Seven families are at risk of floods and landslides, said Acharya, a local. Paddy crops planted on the banks of the river have been damaged in the flood.
