Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has announced a 10 per cent rebate to tax collectors who are not covered by the tax net.

Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol, while presenting the budget for the upcoming fiscal year today, informed that 10 percent discount will be given to the taxpayers who pay tax till mid-December.

“In the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 BS, 10 per cent exemption has been given to taxpayers who have collected taxes till mid-Paush to bring those taxpayers who are not under the tax net,” she said. In addition, recommendation fees have been made free of charge in some tax heads to increase the ownership and trust towards the tax. ’

Programs have been proposed to collaborate with stakeholders including experts to analyze tax and increase the scope of tax. According to him, the idea of widening the scope by linking the taxpayers with the commodity associations has been forwarded.
