Kathmandu. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has started trading. As per the demand of the general investors, NEPSE has made it possible to see the ad lot purchase and sale order on the market depth of the NEPSE website from July 1.
Nepse believes that this will address the complaints of the investors that they have not been able to buy and sell the shares when they have a lot of securities. There is a provision related to ad lot transaction in the Securities Transaction Bye-laws, 2075 BS. According to this, if the face value of securities is Rs 10, 100 units, if the face value is Rs 100, 10 units and if the face value is Rs 1000, then the transaction of one unit is called board lot.
The bye-laws define the transaction of less than the mentioned units as ad lot transaction. Ad lot transactions are not included in price change limits and market index calculations. There is a provision in the bye-laws that the securities holder cannot make an ad lot by dividing the securities in the board lot.
