Kathmandu. The government spent only 82 percent of the budget in the last fiscal year 2081/82 BS. The new fiscal year 2082/83 has begun from Thursday. As of Wednesday, the government had spent only 81.87 per cent of the budget.
According to the Office of the Controller General of Accounts, a budget of Rs 1,860 billion was implemented in the last fiscal year 2081/82 BS. As of Mid-June, the expenditure was rs 1,523.10 billion. This is 81.87 percent of the target.
According to the Office of the Controller General of Accounts, the government has been indifferent to capital expenditure in the last fiscal year as well. The government had allocated Rs 352 billion towards capital expenditure in the last fiscal year. The allocated budget expenditure was only Rs 222 billion. Which is only 63.2 percent of the target. Only 85.95 percent of the current expenditure and 87.14 percent of the budget towards financial management has been spent.
Similarly, the government has announced a budget of Rs 1,964.11 billion for the current fiscal year. Of this, Rs 1,180.98 billion has been allocated for the current budget, Rs 480 billion for capital and Rs 375 billion for financial management. Some of the new tax rates introduced by the government have come into effect from May 15 and the rest from today.
