Land revenue offices across the country collected Rs 51 billion in last fiscal year

Kathmandu. The government has collected revenue worth Rs 51.42 billion in the last fiscal year through land revenue offices across the country. It has been clarified that revenue has been collected significantly from the Land Revenue Office, which keeps the details of real estate transactions across the country and does the necessary work.

According to Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Balram Adhikari, significant work has been done through the ministry and subordinate bodies in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. According to him, 27,358 land ownership certificates have been distributed by the Land Problem Resolution Commission, Village Block Minadi and Special Survey. Similarly, a new land measurement directive has been issued and budget provision has been made for the establishment of a land bank.

According to Minister Adhikari, budget provision has been made for the formation and operation of the National Cooperative Regulatory Authority, the formation and operation of the Debt Recovery Tribunal and the establishment of cooperative loan and savings protection fund. He claimed that this has laid a good foundation for institutional reform of the cooperative sector and to solve the problems of the cooperative sector in the long run.

Of the 62,760 claims of the troubled cooperatives, 8,156 have been refunded. In the meantime, savings of Rs 3.71 billion have been returned. Similarly, the distribution of identity cards to the poor households has gained momentum. A total of 271,640 families from 15 districts will be identified and the distribution of state facility identity cards will be completed by the next Dashain.

A total of 17,791 units of land measuring 360,000 square metres have been registered in the name of the Government of Nepal. To strengthen inclusivity, rs 3.49 billion has been given to women, Rs 1.10 billion to differently abled people and Rs 100 million to other discounts.

In the current fiscal year, 1,424 transactions have ended the dual ownership of 2.816 million square meters of land, land owners and mohi. According to the Ministry, the Land Problem Resolution Commission has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with 750 local levels so far to manage landless Dalits, landless squatters and disorganized settlers.

A total of 281,470 units of land have been completed and 5,121 land ownership certificates have been distributed and 20,000 land ownership certificates have been prepared for distribution. The application has been filed in the concerned system after collecting the data of slum dwellers and unorganized residents.

According to the Ministry, land has been allotted to 127 bodies, including hospital construction, local level building construction, agricultural university, multi-technical school, memorial foundation, health post, medical college and other bodies, including the land approved for cancellation of lease, use and filing in the last fiscal year as per the Strategy for Registration, Use and Leasing of Government Land, 2079 BS.

A total of 61 participants have participated in three trainings on long-term (one-year) senior measurement training-departmental group, junior measurement training-departmental group and junior measurement training open group on the use of map, land management and geographical information.

According to the Ministry, refresher training on unit mapping and land registration has been conducted for about 500 amins and surveyors working in the Land Problem Resolution Commission.
