Bagmati. Bagmati Province has collected 94.12 percent of the target revenue in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS.
According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning of the Bagmati Province government, revenue of Rs 60.74 billion or 94.12 percent of the target has been collected under various heads in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS.
Information Officer at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, Indra Raj Sanjyal, said that the state government is expected to collect Rs 64.54 billion in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS from revenue sharing heads, revenue collected from internal sources of the state government and grants received from the federal government.
According to him, the state government had set a revenue collection target of Rs 29.55 billion from revenue sharing in the current fiscal year, of which 83 per cent i.e. Rs 24.53 billion has been collected.
Similarly, the state government has collected Rs 4.53 billion revenue from internal sources, out of which 84.08 per cent of the target i.e. Rs 3.81 billion has been collected, according to Information Officer Sanjyal.
According to him, the federal government is expected to receive Rs 15.57 billion in grants, of which 76 per cent i.e. Rs 11.96 billion has been received. In the last fiscal year 2080/81 BS, bagmati province had collected Rs 39.22 billion in revenue.
In the fiscal year 2080/81 BS, revenue from revenue sharing, revenue collected from internal sources of the provincial government and grants received from the federal government was estimated to be Rs 48.25 billion.
Similarly, in the fiscal year 2079/80 BS, the Bagmati province government had collected 17 percent less revenue than the estimated revenue. The state government had collected Rs 45.88 billion in the fiscal year 2079/80 BS against the revenue collection of Rs 55.31 billion.
Chief Controller of Accounts at the State Fund and Accounts Controller Office, Hetauda, Hari Prasad Upadhyay, said that the revenue collection has decreased as per the target due to the decrease in revenue collection including VAT, income tax, natural resource excavation fee, land revenue, etc. distributed by the federal and local levels and the federal government has cut some programs due to the economic recession.
