Myagdi. Beni Municipality has completed 329 projects in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. Out of the 337 projects related to road construction, upgradation, community, school, health institution building, irrigation, drinking water, trekking route, sewage management, playground, aryaghat, passenger waiting room, fencing and pond construction, eight out of 337 projects have been completed.

Chief Administrative Officer Arjun Sharma informed that 86.69 percent or Rs 115.713 million has been spent on infrastructure development.

Twenty-two kilometers of roads have been upgraded, two kilometers seventeen meters road slope, one kilometer 337 meters blacktopped, three kilometers 20 meters gravel, two kilometers 905 meters new tank has been opened, 5 kilometers 906 meters of trekking route has been constructed and stones have been printed on 100 meters.

Chief Administrative Officer Sharma said that 1,311 meters of drains, 903 meters of drainage and 20 drinking water tanks, two ponds, two school buildings, one health institution, five passenger waiting rooms, 14 community buildings, 10 school buildings, six monasteries, seven ward office repairs, nine playgrounds, one crematorium and 13 houses of poor citizens have been constructed.

Of the 30 city-level projects, 12 have been executed through contracts. Seven projects, including Lovelyhill Sahasik Ping and Beni’s Shanti Park, considered to be the pride of ward-level 316 Madhyanagar, have not been implemented. Ward no. 3, 4, 6, 9 and 10 have implemented 100 percent of the schemes. One plan each has not been implemented in wards 3, 2, 5, 7 and 8 ÷ 1.

Twenty of the 21 prime minister’s employment schemes have been implemented. Out of the 996 enlisted people, 71 have got minimum 100 days of employment. They have laid stones on 1,200 meters of road and constructed soling and 1,260 meters of trekking route.

The first and second package of Beni-LovelyHill-Jyamrukkot road, maharanithan-chhap-Dadakhet, Beni-Arthunge-Toripani-Patlekhet road, Kalipul Agricultural Building, Ratnechaur Param Vedic Sanatan Religious Ashram, Galeshwor Bazaar beautification, animal slaughterhouse, addition of room of ward no. 7, cremation ground at Dobhan and Beni open platform playground have been completed through Kaligandaki Sanitation Program.

The beni-Pulachaur road repair project of the Road Board and the arthunge-Pulachaur road upgradation project of the municipality have made 85-85 percent physical progress. 94 percent progress has been made in the construction of Ravan Park, which was contracted in the fiscal year 2076/77 BS. Mayor Surat KC said that the deadline of the three projects under construction has been extended till next September.

Deputy Mayor Jyoti Lamichhane said that the core cutting of all the roads leading to pitches and slopes and on-site monitoring of projects costing more than Rs 500,000 have been carried out. The ward office and ward-level monitoring committee have been given the responsibility of signing and monitoring the projects and programs estimated to cost up to Rs 500,000.

Consumer committees of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 10 were oriented to make the implementation of the scheme effective. Deputy Mayor Lamichhane said that most of the projects have been completed as the survey was carried out in the first quarter and the agreement was signed in the second quarter.
