Mahendranagar Revenue Office collects Rs 2.41 billion revenue

Kanchanpur. Revenue collection of Inland Revenue Office Mahendranagar has increased.

Chief Tax Officer damru Prasad Parajuli said that the office has collected rs 2.41 billion in revenue in the fiscal year 2081÷82 BS. In the previous fiscal year, the office had collected Rs 2.39 billion in revenue. This year, revenue collection has increased by 13 percent in income tax.

According to Chief Tax Officer Parajuli, income tax of Rs 850.86 million has been collected in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. In the previous fiscal year, income tax of Rs 750 million was collected.

Similarly, interest tax has also increased by 22 percent. The office has collected Rs 28.95 million revenue in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. It had collected Rs 25.25 million in the previous fiscal year. House tax has been increased by 12.5 percent. The office has collected Rs 13.78 million in house tax in the fiscal year 2081÷82 BS.

In the previous fiscal year, the office collected Rs 608.86 million in VAT and Rs 909.17 million in excise duty as against Rs 12.27 million in the previous fiscal year. Chief Tax Officer Parajuli said, “The income tax has increased in this fiscal year and the VAT is low.” ’

The office owes Rs 130 million in revenue. “We owe Rs 90 million in VAT and Rs 40 million in income tax,” he said. ’

Chief Tax Officer Parajuli said that taxpayers who do not pay the dues are repeatedly encouraged to pay the arrears and the notice is issued in the newspapers of the taxpayers who do not pay the dues. “Even after repeated reminders, the taxpayers can be informed in the newspapers and the bank accounts of those who do not pay the dues on time can also be frozen,” he said.
