Agriculture products worth Rs 22.16 billion exported through Kakarbhitta border

Bhadrapur. In the last fiscal year 2081/82, agricultural products worth Rs 22.16 billion were exported from plant quarantine and pesticide management center quarantine office, Kakarbhitta.

Information Officer at the Office, Chandreshwar Thakur, said the main items exported include cardamom, tea, ply and veneer, ginger and amliso. Tea worth Rs 9.55 billion, cardamom worth Rs 6.59 billion, ply and veneer worth Rs 3.85 billion and amliso worth Rs 1.09 billion were exported in the last fiscal year.

Similarly, ginger worth Rs 272.6 million, banda worth Rs 86 million, herbs worth Rs 91.3 million and lentils worth Rs 90.7 million were exported. According to Information Officer Thakur, agricultural products worth Rs 3.46 billion were imported from the eastern border during the same period.

The main agricultural commodities imported include millets, legumes, pulses, rice, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, garlic, potatoes, maize and cattle feed. According to the quarantine office data, millet worth Rs 177 million, rice worth Rs 92.7 million and fresh vegetables worth Rs 383.2 million were imported.

Similarly, fresh fruits worth Rs 381.1 million, garlic worth Rs 641.5 million and potatoes worth Rs 738.6 million were imported, according to the Quarantine Office.
