According to Pokharel, the price of large eggs had reached Rs 510 per crate in August last year. He said, “The highest rate of eggs has been maintained so far. With this, he said, the farmers got the cost price. The cost price of eggs is Rs 16.56 per piece.

The number of chickens involved in egg production has decreased and the price has increased due to lack of supply as per the demand. He also said that the production has been affected as the farmers have been displaced due to the sale of old chickens.

“Looking at the current situation, the price of eggs seems to be increasing gradually. Farmers are excited about the rise in prices. Although there is no data, it is estimated that 2.8-3 million eggs are being produced every day. This number is almost half less than before.
