Jhapa. A total of 1,079 new domestic and small industries were registered in the district in the last fiscal year 2081/82 BS.

Janaki Bhattarai, information officer at the Office of Domestic and Small Scale Industries, said that 581 firms were registered in the industry and 498 in the commerce department during the same period. During the same period, 1,609 industries were renewed in the district and 1,665 in the commerce sector, he said.

According to Information Officer Bhattarai, 561 industries including 324 under industry and 237 in commerce have been abolished in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. Information Officer Bhattarai said that although the number of people coming to the office and closing the industries is low, many industries that have not been renewed have been closed.

The number of new additions is increasing rather than the closure of the industry. The office has collected Rs 29.15 million revenue under various heads in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS.
