Parsa. A total of 2,337 units of electric vehicles worth Rs 1.64 billion were imported through Birgunj border point in the last fiscal year. The Customs Office collected Rs 1.80 billion in revenue from the import of electric vehicles in the last fiscal year.
Deepak Lamichhane, chief customs administrator at Birgunj Customs Office, said more fuel-powered vehicles have entered through birgunj border point than electric ones. In the last fiscal year, 16 electric jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 120.6 million were imported. He informed that rs 197.4 million revenue has been collected from the import of these vehicles.
In the same period, 50 electric jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 130.4 million of 51 kW to 100 kW capacity were imported.
A total of 36 electric jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 248 million of 101 kW to 200 kW capacity have been imported. A total of 1,821 units of electric motorcycles worth Rs 430.2 million have been imported through this border point.
According to Chief Customs Administrator Lamichhane, 16 electric jeeps, cars and vans of 201 kW to 300 kW capacity worth Rs 120.6 million have also been imported.
