Kathmandu. China is to formally start the construction of bailey bridge at Rasuwagadhi border point from Sunday.
Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, Arjun Poudel, informed that the Chinese side is going to start the construction of bailey bridge as per the agreement between the government and China. China is expected to complete the construction of the bridge by September 15.
Rasuwa: A team led by The Chief District Officer of Rasuwa on Saturday inspected the construction site for the construction of bailey bridge temporarily.
The Miteri bridge connecting Nepal and China at Rasuwagadhi was completely damaged due to flooding in bhotekoshi river on July 15. As a result, the Nepal-China road link through the border point has been snapped.
A virtual meeting between local officials of Rasuwa and China was held on Saturday from the construction site. According to the District Administration Office, Rasuwa, bilateral discussions were held in detail on the issues of disaster relief and post-disaster reconstruction and rehabilitation.
It has also expressed commitment to provide necessary coordination, cooperation and facilitation to create a conducive environment for the local administration to complete the construction of the proposed Bailey Bridge as soon as possible.
