New Working Committee of Consular Corps-Nepal led by Bhola Bikram Thapa

Kathmandu. Bhola Bikram Thapa, honorary consul general of Bulgaria to Nepal, has taken over the leadership of the Honorary Consul General-Nepal (HCCN), an association of honorary consuls and consuls of different countries in Nepal.

The 18th General Assembly of HCCN held in Kathmandu recently elected Thapa, who is also the Chairman of the President Group of Companies, as the Dean for another term. Thapa will lead the HCCN for the period 2025-26. Honorary Consul General of Indonesia Chandra Prasad Dhakal is the outgoing Dean of HCCN, Suraj Baidya, Honorary Consul General of Philippines as Vice Dean and Narayan Bajaj, Honorary Consul General of Romania as Treasurer.

Honorary Consul of Slovak Republic Pasang Dawa Sherpa, Honorary Consul of Vietnam Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, Honorary Consul General of Italy Pratima Rana Pandey, Honorary Consul General of Hungary Arun Chaudhary and Honorary Consul general of Peru Sumathi Kumar Agrawal have been elected to the HCCN Executive Committee.

Honorary Consul of Iceland Bidushi Rana has been announced as an invited member of the HCCN Executive Committee. Presenting his action plans for the coming year, newly elected Dean Thapa pledged to make the role of consuls, the drivers of economic diplomacy, more effective.
