Kathmandu. Insurance claims worth more than Rs 840 million have been received from the damage caused by floods and landslides in Rasuwa (Bhotekoshi) on July 15. According to the details made public by the Nepal Insurance Authority on Monday, insurance claims worth Rs 843.81 million have been received in 11 non-life insurance companies.

So far, 68 claims worth Rs 84.25 billion have been made in 11 companies due to the floods. However, the insurance authority has informed that such claims are continuing. The insurance claim is yet to come as the details of the complete damage of the flood and landslide have not been received.

Due to the flood, most of the insurance claims have been made towards property insurance. According to the NRA, six claims worth Rs 580 million have been filed in the property insurance sector alone. Seven claims worth Rs 162.31 million have been filed under maritime insurance (transportation and import).

Three insurance claims worth Rs 54 million have been filed under engineering and contractor risk insurance, 38 in public motor insurance worth Rs 25.95 million and 14 insurance claims worth Rs 21.45 million in private motor insurance.

According to the data released by the AUTHORITY, two claims worth Rs 550 million have been made on The Himalayan Everest. Similarly, Shikhar Insurance has 12 claims worth Rs 168.51 million. Neco Insurance has three claims worth Rs 51.2 million.

Similarly, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance has two claims worth Rs 26.5 million, Nepal Insurance has 12 claims worth Rs 12.85 million, United Ajod Insurance has three claims worth Rs 9.1 million and IGI Prudential Insurance has nine claims worth Rs 7.55 million.

On the other hand, sanima GIC has six insurance claims worth Rs 7.5 million. NLG Insurance has six claims worth Rs 4.7 million, Siddhartha Premier Insurance has seven claims worth Rs 31 lakh and Prabhu Insurance has six claims worth Rs 2.8 million.
