Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Dr Bishwanath Poudel held a meeting with the Bank’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) today.
Governor Poudel today held discussions with the CEOs of the bank on the BAFIA Bill in the Finance Committee.
In the discussion, the banks said that if the state is preparing to separate bankers and businessmen, then another suitable alternative is needed. CeOs argue that banks and businessmen should not be separated without any alternative.
At present, the founder shares of the bank have not been sold. Banks have also drawn the governor’s attention to such issues.
The CEOs say that they will not give a suitable option to separate bankers and businessmen and should not be asked to step down immediately. Governor Poudel is happy with the suggestions given by the CEOs, said a banker.
The governor held discussions with the CEOs of commercial banks to discuss the proposed provisions of the BAFIA Amendment Bill and the second financial sector development strategy. He called the bank’s chairmen for discussions on Wednesday, a banker said.
