Kathmandu. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal has directed to speed up the leveling of thankot-Chitlang road. After inspecting the road on Thursday, he said that this short road connecting Kathmandu could also be helpful for economic development and prosperity.

He expressed the belief that this road would also help in taking the agricultural produce of Makawanpur to Kathmandu and also in the development of the tourism sector. He also directed the Department of Roads to complete the works within the stipulated time and to end the delay in any project and project.

He said that development structures should bring prosperity in the lives of the citizens. He said that this road is also important from the point of view of economic development.

Similarly, Member of The House of Representatives from the same area and CPN(UML) Chief Whip Mahesh Bartola said that this road is important not only for the people of Makawanpur and Kathmandu but also for connectivity with Bagmati, Madhes and Lumbini along with eastern Nepal.

He stressed the need to complete the road as soon as possible without any hindrance and delay, which is expected to be useful for economic development as well as directly related to the lives of the people here. According to Subharaj Neupane, chief of the Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office, Kathmandu, the work for the road leveling contract has already progressed. Pm’s Economic Advisor Dr Yubajar Khatiwada, Chairman of The Intellectuals Association Gajendra Thapaliya and others were present on the occasion.

According to Narayan Dutta Bhandari, chief of the Road Division, Kathmandu, work is underway for the construction of this road in two packages. The road is 8.5 km long in Kathmandu and the rest in Makawanpur.
