Kathmandu. Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has stressed the need for the youth to build a creative future by excelling in the field of information technology.

Inaugurating the ‘KCC Exhibition-2025’ organized at Kantipur City College in Kathmandu today TAG_OPEN_div_22, Minister Gurung said that the country needs skilled manpower in information technology and there is a lot of scope for employment in information technology. He said that various countries have come a long way due to the development in the field of information technology.

“TAG_OPEN_div_20 There are many possibilities for the development of information technology in Nepal, but due to lack of adequate human resources, lack of effective policy and lack of information technology infrastructure, we are facing challenges in putting it into practice,” said Minister Gurung. He assured that the state would gradually create opportunities for creative youth to get employment in Nepal by setting future goals in the field of information technology.

TAG_OPEN_div_18 “This year, we are going to build information technology-related infrastructure, deliver 4G door-to-door and launch 5G,” said Minister Gurung, who is also the spokesperson of the Government of Nepal. ’

Speaking on TAG_OPEN_div_16 the occasion, CAN President Sunaina Ghimire gave the example of youths getting plenty of employment opportunities in the country by starting innovative works through information technology. “Those who work hard and have knowledge about information technology do not have any problem in earning income,” he said, adding, “CAN has also been supporting and encouraging such youths.” ’

According to Nepal Academy TAG_OPEN_div_14 of Science and Technology (NAST) Secretary Dr Rabindra Prasad Dhakal, there is a need for engineers in the country. “Who will lead the country towards prosperity when the youth studying here and going abroad are increasing? It is becoming a matter of concern,” he said. Secretary Dr Dhakal said the exodus of youths abroad was the result of the state’s failure to provide the right environment in the country. He, however, said that due to the development of information technology, there is a hope of doing creative work by staying in the country in the recent past.

“TAG_OPEN_div_12 There are grounds on which youth can be sustained in the country through information technology, but the state should be able to feel the right working environment for that,” said Secretary Dr Dhakal. The two-day exhibition showcases the models of various innovative works related to information technology made by the youth.
