Electricity facility extended to 900 households in Myagdi

Myagdi. Myagdi: Electricity from the central transmission line has been extended to about 900 households in Myagdi in the last one year. Myagdi: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Myagdi Distribution Centre has said that 874 consumers have been added in different parts of the district in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. Centre chief Satya Narayan Gami said that patle, Lupsipar, Gyanglepani of Malika rural municipality-3, Chiuribot of ward-4, Bull and Malampar of Dhawalagiri rural municipality have been electrified in the last one year.

According to him, electrification works have reached the final stage in Lulang, Lamsung, Khoriya, Mareni of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-2, Malkwang of Ward No. 5, Mahabhir of Malika Rural Municipality-4, Panthok and Jugja of Ward No. 5. According to him, electrification will be completed once the consumers install the meters in the places where poles, wire pulling and transformers have been installed.

Last year, electrification and distribution line of Ghodepani were improved at Punhill, a tourist spot in Annapurna Rural Municipality-6. The 132 KV Milanchowk-Ratodhunga transmission line and Ratodhunga substation have been supplying electricity to Mangala, Malika and Dhawalagiri rural municipalities since last year.

Rajaram Subedi, ward chair of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-6, said that the locals, who depended on solar, kerosene taps, lamps and whistles for lighting, were happy after the electricity was lit. Domestic work, students have become easier to study and opportunities have been created to run enterprise business.

Prakash Jha, information officer at myagdi distribution centre, informed that 23,869 electricity consumers have been added this year. According to nea data, 1,438 new lines were installed in the fiscal year 2080/81, 1,238 in 2079/80 and 770 in 2078/79.

Electricity is also being distributed through Milanchowk substation under Myagdi distribution center in Mallaj and Waribeni areas of Jaljala rural municipality of Parbat. Myagdi: NeA has implemented a plan of Rs 220 million from the fiscal year 2080÷81 BS to expand the electricity facility of the national transmission line to 2,183 households in 14 places of Myagdi.

In the last fiscal year, 17.395 million units of electricity was consumed through myagdi distribution center and rs 203.363 million was collected. A total of Rs 1,345,407 has been recovered by cutting the line of 145 customers who did not pay the tariff on time.

Those who did not pay the tariff for 60 days will be cut off and those who do not pay the tariff for six months will be blacklisted. Shyam Rana, chief of accounts at the distribution centre, said rs 77,000 was collected from one of the blacklisted persons and rs 278,904 was yet to be collected from 11 more people.
