Jumla. Dhimichaur in Chandannath Municipality-4 of the district has been developing as an internal tourist destination in recent times. Dhimichaur, which has tourism potential, has become a favorite of domestic and foreign tourists.
Locals say that tourism is being attracted to take the fragrance of flowers blooming in Patan, enjoy the pleasant environment and have a panoramic view.
Social worker and local leader Surendra Bahadur Mahat said that the arrival of domestic tourists is increasing as this place attracts tourists and makes them happy. According to him, the local government is working to promote it, conduct tourism activities and promote tourism.
“The road has been extended to reach here. The municipality plans to increase it further. Dhimichaur, which is about an hour’s walk from the district headquarters Khalanga, has seen an increase in the flow of domestic tourists,” he said.
A large area in the middle of a dense jungle, that area is Dhimchaur. At present, Dhimichaur is full of tourists, especially in July and August. Himmat Budhthapa, a local, said that domestic tourists flock to Nepal on Fridays and Saturdays and holidays.
Stating that biscuits, plastic, glass, red bull and water bottles would be found in the areas up to Patan due to the increase in the number of visitors to Dhimichaur, Laxmi Khatri said that with the increase in tourism activities, income has increased and waste is also increasing in the environment. He stressed on the need of arranging garbage bins at different places for waste management.
“Dhimichaur, which was earlier used by Baubaje as a cowshed in the rainy season, is now developing into a major destination for domestic tourism. If the local government had taken initiatives for waste management along with infrastructure development, the economic status of the locals would have improved by promoting more tourism,” he said.
