Rs 44.1 million revenue collected from vehicle operations

Kailali. Nepal Police Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office, Attariya has collected Rs 44.15 million in revenue from various road accidents in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS.

Office Chief and Superintendent of Police Prem Bahadur Shahi said that rs 44.15 million revenue has been collected from the operation of 61,576 vehicles. According to him, revenue of Rs 48.987 million was collected from various vehicle operations carried out in the fiscal year 2080/81 BS.

Stating that 192 people were killed in 1,203 road accidents across the far-western state in the last fiscal year, SP Shahi said 2,004 people were injured. During the same period, 13 cattle were killed in road accidents, police said.

According to Superintendent of Police Shahi, the highest number of 752 road accidents took place due to over-speeding. Similarly, 136 accidents took place due to alcohol consumption, 32 due to overtake, 55 due to mechanical, 26 due to road weather, 19 due to cattle and the rest due to other reasons.

A total of 1,726 vehicles including trucks, tractors, tippers, dozers, buses, micro-jeeps, cars, tempos and motorcycles were involved in the accident. According to SP Shahi, ‘One minute with driver’, ‘school contact’, ‘traffic police with parents’ and other programs have been carried out by this office and subordinate offices. According to him, the ‘time card’ has been implemented strictly from Godawari to Budar and From Budar to Apple.

He said that checking has been continued using TCA app (traffic communication application) to check whether there are two drivers in long-distance hired passenger buses.
