Social Development Office completes 55 projects, spends 92.50% on current

Tanahun. The Social Development Office Tanahun has completed 55 capital projects in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. The office has constructed monasteries, monasteries, school buildings, mother group buildings and playgrounds in different parts of the district.

Of the rs 38.15 million allocated for capital expenditure, Rs 31.325 million has been spent, office chief Bidurhari Acharya said. According to him, rs 500,000 has been allocated for the construction and conservation of Manechowka Chheden Karma Cheling Monastery at Bhanu municipality-11, out of which Rs 489,196 has been spent. With this money, the monastery has been upgraded, floors added and railings have been constructed.

A budget of Rs 1 million has been allocated for the construction of Radhakrishna Temple at Byas Municipality-1, Rs 500,000 for Jwaladevi Mother Group Building at Shuklagandaki Municipality-1, Rs 500,000 for The Gurung Community Building at Bhanu-10, Rs 500,000 for the repair of Sankhuli Community Multipurpose Building at Bhanu-3 and Rs 1 million for the construction of a compound at Galeshwor Ashram in Devghat Rural Municipality-5.

According to him, Rs 500,000 has been allocated for the construction of Dargaon Gurung Samaj Building at Shuklagandaki Municipality-5, Rs 500,000 for the repair of Badri Narayan Temple Ramanuj Peeth at Devghat-5, Rs 1 million for the construction of Kirakhor Playground at Shuklagandaki-2 and Rs 1 million for Rammandir Toll Old Age Home at Bhimad Municipality-5.

92% of current expenditure

According to the office, 92.50 percent of the budget has been spent in the current fiscal year. Chief Acharya informed that rs 18.75 million has been allocated for the current fiscal year, out of which Rs 14.86 million has been spent.

In the current fiscal year, the office has completed grants to senior citizens day service center, community-based rehabilitation program for persons with disabilities, leadership development for single women, parent education, awareness program for drug control, self-defense training to adolescent girls, child-friendly local governance promotion and management.

The Social Development Office was established in the district on September 1, 2018. The office has been working in the fields of youth, women, children and senior citizens. The office, which has been operating in two rooms of the Education Development and Coordination Unit for three and a half years, has been providing services from its own building since January 1, 2081 BS.
