Lumbini. Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya has said that the government has given special priority to the settlement of arrears to maintain financial discipline.

In a meeting and discussion organized by the Lumbini State Assembly Public Accounts Committee at the State Assembly Secretariat today, Chief Minister Acharya directed every ministry and office to formulate a plan keeping the settlement of arrears in priority and implement it.

“It is important to keep arrears first priority, the ministry and subordinate offices should increase their role in bringing results,” he said. It is necessary to work without any kind of confusion. ’

He made it clear that the state government would take seriously the issues mentioned in the Auditor General’s report and formulate and implement reform plans. “The government considers the issues raised in the discussion. “The government is determined to include the priority issues in the budget and programme while formulating the plan and formulating the policy and implement the issues mentioned in the budget,” he said, adding, “We have made the government’s work transparent, which will contribute to the solution of the problem.” ’

Coordinator of the Public Accounts Sub-Committee Bishnu Prasad Panthi clarified the issues included and pointed out in the seventh report of the Auditor General. According to Panthi, the Auditor General has suggested to include the issues included in the policy and program compulsorily in the budget and program, to include the programs prioritized by the periodic plan in the annual budget and program, to make programs to complete incomplete projects, to pay attention to various grant management, to emphasize on the property management of the state government and to work within the scope.

In the meeting, it has been emphasized to submit a report on the achievements of arrears on a monthly basis. It has been emphasized that as much as the issue of spending the budget is given priority, attention should also be paid to the settlement of arrears and this issue should be of everyone’s concern and priority. It was also discussed that the problem could be solved by linking the issue of arrears with the release and implementation of the budget.
