Drinking water access to Khayaku costs Rs 83.48 lakh

Kavrepalanchowk. Similarly, 175 families have been provided drinking water after completion of the Construction of Khayaku-Devikhola Drinking Water Project at Khayaku of Panauti Municipality-11. The drinking water project and sanitation users’ committee has been declared a ‘clean and clean’ community and handed over to the project community.

According to the committee, 175 houses, including schools and temples, have been provided with drinking water taps under the drinking water project. The settlements from Khayaku, Besigaun, Mahantatol, Mahattol and Ghaindanda to school have now been declared safe and directly benefited from drinking water services.

The construction has been completed at a total cost of Rs 8.34 million. According to project chair Mohan Thapa, Rs 4,241,700 has been spent from Nepal Drinking Water (NEWA), Rs 1,691,400 from Panauti Municipality and Rs 2,414,800 from consumer shramdaan for the project.

Earlier last week, 195 families were provided drinking water again by rebuilding a drinking water project damaged by floods and landslides at Balthali of Panauti Municipality-11. The Nepane-Fangkhola Drinking Water and Sanitation Project, which was damaged by floods and landslides, has been reconstructed through a gravity system and provided drinking water to the consumers of two settlements of Balthali.

A total of 123 households of Nepane and 72 households of Dandagaun of Balthali have rejoined the ‘One House-One Dhara’ programme. The project, constructed in 2047 BS, was rebuilt with financial assistance with the help of donor organizations after the devastating earthquake of 2072 BS and floods and landslides of Last September.
